I have managed to carve out my own career in the HR profession after my MBA in IT, i own a recruitment consultancy and am almost involved in all the activities from getting clients, sourcing candidates profile from portals, calling up and it goes on. We are a 4 member team and its been 7 monts i have started this firm functioning. But i always had a second thought of going for a job ,leaving behing this consultancy to my sisters who cud take care of it. so at this stage does my experiance in my own consultancy count and what kind of phrase can i use in my resume or shall i just write the conutancy name and my experiance in it without quoting i own it. Just giv me your views pls.
Thanks
Vinod.

Hi Vinod, Your experience would count and you can very well show it as your own consultancy. With your experience, i think you can land a very good job in Hiring (complete life cycle of hiring).

Hi!!
In my opinion you should definitely look forward to a job with any of the IT companies and should work under the capacity of HR Recruiter …with this what happens is you get to use your recruitment experience and also your IT background helps…
You can always mention during your interview rounds that you run your own consultancy and would look forward to a job with a company for more exposure …

Hello,
Yes, Your expereince definitely counts. At the time of being interivewed be specific and choose your words wisely cause no employer will prefer to have an employee who will be focused else where.
Choose your words wisely and keep the control of your questions in your hand while being interviewed.
All the best for a brighter future.

Hi Vinod,You should definitely post the experience and very strongly point out that you own it which adds more positive points to your profile. However, I would suggest that you continue running that as well as diversify into other areas of consultancy if you have more time than go back to a job.Once an Entrepreneur, you should only add more services to your organisations' portfolio. But why work for somebody when you can yuorself provide employment for others?warm regards,Swaminath Adabala

Hello,
Caution: You may not be able to use your own (your sisters) consultancy's services if you decide to go for a recruiter profile in most of the organizations as it may be considered unethical / conflict of interest.
For the question you had asked: Yes, you should mention about the work you have done. No matter if it is for your own consultancy. If you have done it you deserve to mention it in your profile.
