Hello All,
Iam a new entrant to this forum. Please guide me on the following issue:-

I had worked in a company in Dubai during 05-06 . Due to family reasons , I had to relocate back to India for good in May 2006 . While handing over my passport to my HR Department for visa cancellation, I was told that they would be needing my wife's passport for cancellation before they could cancel my visa.Unfortunately, I had sent my wife back to India a few months earlier because of her pregnancy. So, I assured my company that I will be sending both our passports through courier once I reach India, but didnt do so upon reaching India.

Now my question is: Whether I can travel to Dubai on a visit visa or a company sponsored business visa or transit through Dubai now (after nearly 21/2 years)if my ex-employer in Dubai has allowed the visa to lapse(6 months) without branding me an absconder.

Would appreciate any response in this forum to my above queries.my email id is

Thanks in advance.

Hi Raghav, I checked with my ex-company’s HR people and they have confirmed that they have not listed me as an absconder with the Ministry. Rgds, M.Venkatesh

dear venkt,
what they did, if the visa is not cancelled then file with absconding
ask them, if visa was cancelled ask cancelletion copy, then it will confirm ,
then you can apply any visa
