Hi Chttaranjan,
As per u r mail my understanding is: You are already given a structure and you want that to be altered...........
If my understanding is correct then the answer is:
It purely depends on what kind of relationship you have with the concerned HR person and how helpful he is.
Generally people come up with altering structure so as to save some tax. In such a scenario most of the companies would helpd employees with the salary structure that can save the employee few bucks. However, the total payable would never change.

Hi,
Yes definitely you can ask for the break up as every organization has a complete break up of the salary components.
Typically there are three components like Fixed salary, Variable salary & benefits.
Fixed includes Basic, DA, HRA, PF, PT, SA ( This includes earnings as well deductions)
Variable includes Special allowance, Project allowances, Bonus, Performance pay, Incentive, etc
Benefits part includes car plan, Holiday package, Leased accommodation, Telephone, Medical / Hospitalization schemes etc.
These put togather forms CTC......& i ma quite sure these can be discased before taking a decision.
Thanks,
