I seek your help on Performance Appraisal Exercise. I read about it while doing my PG but never done it independently. Now I am to carry out appraisal exercise. Therefore, you are requested to help me in this. I want to know how to carry it out. What is the procedure? What kind of form should I ask the employees to fill up (in case of 360 degree appraisal) and what after that? I mean what to do with thhose appraisal forms given up by the employees and their superiors. How to calculate their performance on the basis of those forms? How to decide promotion and salary increment on its basis. Pls pls help me immediately.

Policy knowledge
reponse time,
New innovation
achievements
Suggestion for improvement etc on the basis
You will give this appraisal sheet to
Appraisee, Appraiser and Reviewer.
Appraisee will first fill it and rate himself and provide him self the rate
Then appraisee will cross check and provide his rates accordingly the the verifier finally put his points and comments accordingly
Now you you can club the marks and can get the percentage which will
E.g
a. Appraisee 80/100
b. Appraiser 70/100
c. Reviewer 75/100
then it might me calculated as follows
a*20%+b*40%+c*40%)
Salary Increment
Marks % Increment
80 to 100 35%
60-79 25%
50-59 15%
40-49 10%
<49 No Increment

Thanks a lot for your reply. But still it is not clear to me. i have formats of appraisals and can go upto to stage of collecting filled up form. I can alsosum up the total marks. But i dont understand the formule used in PA. You also have written a formula i.e.
a. Appraisee 80/100
b. Appraiser 70/100
c. Reviewer 75/100
then it might me calculated as follows
a*20%+b*40%+c*40%)
Salary Increment
Marks % Increment
80 to 100 35%

Dear Devender,
I mean you can get the percentage of each of the individual. Then we will take the weightage for apraisee only 20 % for apraiser 40%, verifier 40% then we will check the table where the final percentage is lies in the above table and will provide increment accordingly.
