BCG Matrix is a tool which helps a company to think about the portfolio of services and products which it offers and make decisions about which it should keep, which it should invest further into and which it should let go.
It is basically a 2x2 matrix, plotting market share against market growth. It is used for assessing a company's position relative to others in terms of its product range.
Thus BCG offers a useful 'map' about the organisation's products and helps them to allocate resources accordingly.
